August 9, 2022 / 7PM
On August 9th we will discuss the Cambridge Street development recommendations (linked below) that ISNA submitted to the City at the beginning of last month. We will also share the favorable feedback we received during a recent meeting between ISNA leadership members, a City Planner, and the Director of Community Planning for the Community Development Department of the City of Cambridge. During that meeting, the five recommendations on which ISNA members have reached consensus were discussed.
The City is interested in meeting with us again at the end of the month. They want to hear more about the areas in which we did not reach consensus. So, on August 9th we will also discuss the following issues in order to get more feedback:
1. Building height;
2. Parking for small businesses and Cambridge residents without parking;
3. Setbacks;
4. Creation of an urban design for Cambridge Street development from Inman Square to First Street, and
5. No majority glass building surfaces on new Cambridge Street development.
After the August 9th meeting we will summarize the discussion and share it with the Planning Study team members before they issue their final recommendations to the City in mid-September.

(The first after a two-year hiatus!)
We will discuss the City's Cambridge Street development project, and the responses we received to our survey on the topic. We'll share and discuss the top priorities from the survey results as well as what important topics we think the City left out. Everyone will have a chance to give their feedback. After this meeting, ISNA leadership volunteers will write-up a summary of the survey and meeting feedback to be presented to the City. Before we present the summary to the City, we will have a second ISNA meeting (Date TBD) to discuss the summary and make sure as many people as possible know what it says.
If you are unable to attend one or both of the meetings, we encourage you to share your feedback via email by answering the questions that appear in the agenda below. (See agenda items 4, 5, 6, 7.) Please send your answers to inman.square.neighborhood@gmail.com with the subject line "Answers to agenda questions."
